Emily Sandford loses her brother at sea

EMILY SANDFORD - A letter received from Port Philip, dated October 1, 1849, states that this unfortunate lost her brother a few days after their arrival in the Caspar, emigrant ship, at Port Adelaide. The brother, it will be remembered, volunteered to accompany his sister and child as a protector. By some accident, in attempting to gain the shore from the ship he fell into the water, and, in spite of the exertions made to save him, he met with a watery grave. The young man was 22 years of age.
