St Peter, Stutton - nave

Against the north side of the arch separating the chapel from the chancel, is a monument, let into the wall near the floor.

Here lyeth ye body of Sisley Rowe, daughter of Wm. Rowe, of Essex, Esq., who married Wm. Rowe, Esq., 2nd sonne of Sr Wm Rowe, Knt. She left behind her issue, Mary Rowe, who married Jon. Jermy Esq., eldest son of Sr Isaac Jermy, Knt. She liv'd to the age of 58, and dyed in ye year: 1642

This stone was sett up by daughter Mary Jermy, widdow, 1664.

Arms: Arg. a chevron Az. between three trefoils, slipped, per pale Gu. & Az.Rowe.

On a flat stone in the chancel, covered by the organ platform.

Underneath rests ye body of William Jermy, Esq., of Stutton Hall, who married Mary the daughter of Philip Bedingfield, Esq., of Ditchingham in Norfolke, by whomw he left two daughters, Elizabeth and Mary. His second wife was Anne the daughter of Sir John Boys, Knt., of Borrington in East Kent, by whom he left a son named John. He departed this life ye 5th of October, in ye 35th yeare of his age, in ye yeare of our Lord 1669.
